Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve heard you call yourself a “Virtual Assistant.”  What the heck does that mean?

A Virtual Assistant is someone who works for you on a project basis or for longer durations based on a contract.  The term, virtual assistant was coined because technology has made it possible to work remotely or virtually without the necessity of meeting face-to-face (although I have nothing against that).

How do you charge for your services?

Typically, I charge an hourly rate on a project basis.  If you would like a deeper commitment, or more regular assistance, I offer retainer and contract rates based on your needs.

Do you work for my competition?  Are my “trade secrets” safe?

I may occasionally work for clients in the same field.  In these situations, I do not share, nor “copy” previous work.  I find that every client has unique strengths and can easily work for similar businesses without conflict.  If, however,  your business has too much overlap with an existing client, I would not take on the job.

What is your turnaround time?

The time it takes to finish each job is based on several factors.  It is helpful for me if you tell me when you need a project completed.  I will weigh all facets of the work and let you know if that is possible or work out an agreed upon deadline.  I haven’t missed a deadline yet, and take pride in providing a finished product exactly when you need it.

You haven’t done any previous work in my industry.  How can you know enough to help me?

That’s the beauty of marketing.  I don’t need to have first-hand experience in your field.  In fact, sometimes better marketing happens when I have to interview my clients to learn more about what they do and what makes them better than their competition.  Marketing without assumptions and preconceptions  is powerful.  In the end marketing is telling a story, all clients have to share that with me.
